The band's guitarist Chris Reimer asked what size of shoe I wore. Turns out were the same size. He let me have his pair of shoes. I wore those things for two years.

About Chris Reimer
Chris Reimer was an adventurous and curious musician and composer. Though talented, he was also generous, compassionate, empathetic, gentle and modest. Reimer picked up the guitar at the age of eight and drums at the age of twelve. While still in high school, he formed a band with his closest friends. That group would later evolve into the critically-acclaimed WOMEN. Calgary's boutique Flemish Eye label released WOMEN's two albums: self-titled in 2008 and Public Strain in 2010. The band dissolved at the end of a tumultuous tour in October 2010. Reimer would go on to join San Francisco based act The Dodos as a touring guitarist.
Reimer collaborated with other musicians, but was also a solitary creator. He had a passion for ambient, noise, and done sounds. He spent countless hours spinning together listless guitar notes, subtle waves of washing sounds, or loops of glitches and distortions. He was also excited by electronics and the possibilities of sound manipulation. He constructed his own effects pedals and synthesizer circuits. Noise making was his driving force. He longed and planned to compile a full album from his plethora of material.
Hello People
Chris Reimer passed away on the morning of February 21, 2012. His close friends and family knew of his desire to release his ambient work. We also knew of the perfectionism which had prevented him from doing so during his life. We began to listen to his extensive archive of solo work, almost a decade's worth of material.
We're thrilled to finally present this double LP collection to the public.
Hello People a deeply-personal document from a multi-faceted artist -- at times confrontational, at times warm and intimate. Compiled from a huge range of recordings spanning lush four-track projects to raw phone memos, the album veers from ambient guitar-pedal soundscapes, to delicate acoustic melody, and all the way to drone noise experimentation. Hello People takes the listener through an experience of composition and creation from the mind of a deeply-talented spirit whose vision was cut short all too soon.
Available in stores now.
